Aerodynamic testing, in your pocket
Claero turns an iPhone into an aerodynamic test rig. Ride, drive or fly a measured run and it resolves your drag area (CdA) and rolling resistance (Crr) from the phone's own sensors.
The same physics, whatever you are moving.
Every run solves one equation: the energy you put in has to equal the energy the air and the road take out. Claero measures both sides. Speed and acceleration come from the phone's accelerometer, gyroscope and GPS; air density comes from a nearby weather station corrected to your elevation and the local temperature; power comes from a paired meter, an OBD-II adapter, or from how quickly you slow down when you stop pedalling.
What falls out is a number you can act on — and a confidence interval that tells you whether the change you just made to your position, your wheels or your load actually did anything.
One per vehicle class, so nothing on screen is irrelevant to what you are driving.

These apps were created by a physics professor to demonstrate to his students the utility of many of the details and subtleties that he teaches. They are protected by his U.S. Patent No. 11,906,396 B1, “System and Method of Using a Mobile Device as an Aerodynamic Testing System and Power Meter,” and the pending provisional Serial No. 64/117,577, filed 23 June 2026.
